Shivshakti ma Shiva and Parvati have always been my favourite lovers. It's incredibly romantic to think of the Wild God being so lost in his misery at losing his first wife, Sati that he didn't realise that the world is choking on the fumes of his misery. So much so that the Gods go in desperation to the Goddess and asking her to be reborn to save the world from the discomfort generated, as Shiva mourned Sati. So Parvati is born to the Mountain King Himavat for the express purpose of saving Shiva from himself.
