So I've got a 2016 Cayenne Diesel and the brake pad warning light came on last week – not a huge surprise since it's been about 40k km since the last change. But here's what's confusing me: I called a couple of general garages and they all seemed hesitant when I mentioned the electronic parking brake on the rear axle. One guy said something about needing a special scan tool to retract the pistons, otherwise you can damage the calipers. That got me worried because I don't want to be the guinea pig for someone learning on my car. I started looking around and found a place that actually deals with these systems regularly – they're known as Premium Porsche Brake Pad Experts Dubai from what I gathered on another forum. Has anyone here dealt with the rear brake service on a 958 Cayenne? Is it really that complicated or are these shops just overcomplicating it? I'm tempted to just take it to the dealer for peace of mind but the quote they gave me was absolutely insane for just pads and sensors. Any real-world experience would help a ton.
