Changing Channel Names

So, I recently decided to change my channel name. My previous name was AltTakes, which worked for my current content of Alternate Takes for movies and movie parodies in general (all original, animated parodies), but I decided to branch out and work on more than just parodies, so the name didn't fully fit.

So I decided to change it to the name I use for my other animations "Doozy Animation" which covers a wider range of animations than just parodies. (new link is http://www.youtube.com/DoozyAnimation if you are interested. Still rebranding the channel).

What are your thoughts on changing channel names?

I had a similar situation earlier. One thing you need to make sure is to let your current followers know about the change of name.. I have seen some of them leave without knowing about the channel..
